The Challenge

Client has been facing issues with their development teams not able to deliver within the agree timeline and with desired quality and budget. Therefore, client decided to engaged external experts to conduct an impartial review to baseline their  tech stack.  The end goal was to identify the size of the problem, and suggest remediation actions.

Problems to solve

  • Disparate processes: The lack of standardized processes slowed development and reduced product quality
  • Migration effort: Migrating to a new platform with enforced security and CI/CD standards required significant effort due to the lack of established standards
  • Loss of trust: The inconsistencies and delays led to a loss of trust among business owners

The solution

Team of 5 Architects from C&F has been tasked with analyzing 5 products, provide unified scoring, and set of recommendation in following areas:

  • Technical/Product
  • Data
  • Development Process
  • Operation / Support

Detailed analysis has been executed for each of the product:

  • Assessing total of ~400 metrics and aligning with DEV team the results
  • Detailed SWOT analysis
  • List of ~250 recommendation grouped based on effort needed to address it and criticality of the problem

Creation executive level presentation summarizing findings for each product and summarizing whole assessment done.

Results

  • List of quick wins have been identified for each Product to address security/performance/cost optimization/process improvements have been shared
  • Major area of improvements identified
  • Create backlog for addressing findings from the assessment, mapped to the list of recommendation
  • After the assessment client set up a project with clearly defined scope to create Development Blueprint
